About Us

OUR CORE BELIEFS

THE BIBLE is the Word of God (Deut. 4:1-2). It was written by men who were divinely inspired (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:21).

It is God's revelation of himself to man. The Scriptures are inerrant in the original writings and are the supreme standard by which all human conduct and religious opinions should be tried (Acts 17:11; Psa. 19:7-11; 119:105). The Word of God is able to build us up and give us an inheritance with all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:32. Our repeated prayer is, "Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law" (Psa. 119:118).

GOD THE FATHER is the one and only true and living God (Gen. 1:1; Heb. 11:6; Exod. 20:3), a personal and living Spirit (John 4:24). He reigns with providential care over his universe (Acts 7:48-50). According to the purpose of his grace, he is Father to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:26), and he is fatherly in his attitude toward us (Matt. 5:45).

GOD THE SON was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born Of the virgin Mary (Matt. 1:18). He is true God and true man (Rom. 1:3-4). In his death on the Cross, he made provision for the redemption of human beings from sin by becoming a substitutionary sacrifice (Eph. 1:7; I Pet. 2:24). He was raised from the dead with a glorified body, ascended into heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God (I Cor. 15:1-25; John 16.27-28). He will return in power and glory to receive his own (I Thess. 4:13-18). There will be a resurrection of the just and the unjust (John. 5:28).

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT is a divine Person distinct from the Father and Son, and yet united to both the Father and the Son in the mysterious oneness of the holy trinity (Matt. 28:19-20). He enables us to understand truth (John 16:7-13). He imparts new life to those who meet the conditions of salvation (Titus 3:5). He imparts gifts for service to every member of the church (I Cor. 12:7-11). We are called to worship the Father in the Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24). It is only by the Spirit who gives Life that the spirit of death is defeated (Romans 8:2).

OUR UNDERSTANDING OF SALVATION AND EVANGELISM

We believe:

1. All men have sinned and fallen short of God, separated by our inherited sinful nature (Rom. 3:23).

2. Jesus lived a sinless, perfect life, died on the cross, paid the penalty for all sin, and rose again as the first-fruits to give all believers the hope of eternal life (2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Cor. 15:3-4).

3. Salvation is freely given; however, each person has to choose whether to accept the free gift of salvation, believe in Jesus Christ, and confess their sins in repentance. The Holy Spirit is alive and active to convict us of our sins and remove the veil of ignorance so we can understand the free gift of salvation that is being offered to us (John 3:16; 1 John 1:9).
